on our vacation to the East. (No, not on our motorcycle darn it!) But I wanted to take a minute to say how lucky we are to have such dedicated Chapter Officers who make our Chapter run so smoothly. I guess it comes from our mutual love for riding. But without those who many times are behind the scenes, we wouldn’t have the success we enjoy as a Chapter. So a little comment about each, as I know it. First Micky and Marianne our ACD’s & Webmasters: If there were two people in our chapter more enthusiastic than them I would like to know. We are certain that if we checked their DNA, we would find the letters GWRRA in the line up on both of them. They support us so well and are always there when we need them. Next, there is John and Marge who are our Treasurers and wow is John about the job. You know, when you go to the bank about money and they tell you NO. Yea that is John, and instead he puts his hand out to receive money. He is as much a great Treasurer as a Sergeant of Arms; nobody gets away with anything on his watch. All the while, we know Marge is in charge of the gentle Giant and we are glad for that.

Next are Lesley and Mike who write out newsletters each month. How would those on our records we never see know what we are doing without them? Yes a little stab at the less active members maybe, but you don’t know what you are missing unless you come check us out currently. Getting back to Mike and Lesley, they are an awesome quite couple who care about our success and have continued to be patient with our late newsletter pieces. If you haven’t seen their Corvette, it is a work of art built with many hours of labor and love handed down from Lesley’s dad. If you go by their place, ask to see it and the “before restoration” pictures. Then we have George who is our publisher; he is filled with a hard drive of knowledge and I think the patience of Job. A former computer geek, he is a silent hero to us all. His history of the Chapter’s past is invaluable, and his knowledge of Goldwings priceless. Please tell him thanks for his great work next time you see him.

Dwight is the tireless Road Captain I think we would all like to become. You say lets ride and Dwight’s name will be nominated to lead us. His attentiveness has saved more than one Sierra Eagle from disaster. He loves to ride and seems to be available for every ride we come up with. We sure appreciate Dwight and I hope that you think to tell him we are grateful he is a great Road Captain. He is a pretty good passenger in a Jeep to Rubicon also. Kay is one of our newest officers as the Photographer, and boy what a record she has for recording the events of our Chapter. With an eye on the fun and focused through a camera lens, Kay captures our new history as it is made. If you think she holds back her feelings, you probably haven’t talked to her much. I like her, because you always know where you stand with her, and she will be happy to tell you if you don’t. I only hope she remembers to not take pictures while driving; you know she rides a Trike which practically drives it self.

Michell is our Sunshine Girl; I don’t think you will find a more compassionate candidate for that position. Michell is a real sweetheart and has a terrific smile. I guess that Big Valley Honda must have found her darker side when they agreed to sell her the new bike at a price below belief. Wow, I am glad nobody went to the hospital at the end of those negotiations. She rides the funny colored
